The course takes place at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) in Wetzlar.
The field of general mechanical engineering covers the areas of design and industrial production, i.e. the methods involved in creating a product. Students learn to find answers to complex engineering questions. They are enabled to apply and implement engineering methods to solve a wide range of tasks in general mechanical engineering in order to plan, develop and produce technical systems in their respective fields. The simulation of the mechanical behaviour of components and automation technology, as an interdisciplinary field of engineering, round off the range of courses on offer.
The programme offers a wide range of career opportunities. Graduates can take on specialist and management tasks in the following areas, for example:
- Automotive and supplier industry
- Mechanical and plant engineering
- Shaping Industry
- Packaging machine construction
